In 2024, the Government of Albania has planned to build several toll highways1. Currently, there are two highways that are ready to start paying, “Arbër Xhaferi” and “Ibrahim Rugova”, but the tax will also apply to new highways that are expected to be completed in the next two years.
The Tirana-Durrës highway will also be tolled. This is not the first time that this segment will become part of toll roads, but the government has officially accepted this in a document dated December 13, 2023.
In the list of projects that will be closed during 2024 are the Arbri Road, the Thumanë-Kashar axis, the Llogora Tunnel, the Great Ring of Tirana, the Elbasan-Qafë Thane, Orikum-Dukat, Palasë-Dërmi, Korçë-Ersekë, Maliq-Lozhan axes. Ri-Strelcë, Peshkopi-Maqellare, Vlora International Airport Connecting Road with Fier-Vlora Highway, Qafë e Buallit Martanesh axis et
