The priority section of the Bar-Boljare track was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and was put into traffic the next day. The first seven days were free.

The total length of the first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers, on the main route there are 20 bridges, 9 bridges on roundabouts, 2 overpasses, 8 underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, as well as 16 two-pipe tunnels.

The section has four interchanges with toll ramps where the motorway connects to the existing state, namely Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša and Mateševo.

The maximum speed is limited to 100 kilometers per hour.

Sozina tunnel

The tunnel is located north of Sutomore and south of Virpazar and is designed to bypass the Pashtrovska Gora mountain massif, which separates the Montenegrin coast from the Zeta plain and Lake Skadar. The Sozina car tunnel has a length of 4189 m and is the longest and most modern car tunnel in Montenegro.

The Kamenari-Lepetane ferry is the only inland ferry crossing in Montenegro, passing through the Chain Strait. This allows you to avoid detours on the way through the Bay of Kotor to Tivat, Herceg Novi and other cities on the Adriatic coast, saving about 40 minutes.

The duration of the 300-meter transition is no more than ten minutes. Ferries carry not only people, but also some vehicles, such as bicycles, motorcycles, cars. During the season, the crossing is made every 15 minutes by four 24-hour ferries, each of which can accommodate about 50 cars. Both banks of the ferries are equipped with bus stops, which allows travelers on foot to easily continue their journey by bus.
