Repair backstage manual transmission e36 — logbook BMW 3 series 318i m40 restore 1993 on
Like most 36s, I had a loose rocker. In principle, in order to remove the backlash and not catch the wings throughout the cabin, only one part is needed, this is bushing No. 2 in the figure. I bought a used backstage for dismantling, ordered bushing No. 2, and a silent block for mounting the manual transmission lever No. 4. I collected one from two wings and put it in place. I also wanted to repress the bushings on the handle and box, but after running around the Simfa and Yalta car markets, I did not find anything. Therefore, I will repress next time. The size bushings are suitable from the OKA starter, the dimensions of the backstage bushings are 21 mm long, inner ø10mm, outer ø15mm, shift sleeve bushings 21mm long, inner ø10mm, outer ø 17mm. Part No. 7 was in good condition, I even collected all the yellow rings, but they can be replaced with copper ones, making them a little thinner. So, it took hands, a mount and a hole to work. I didn’t take the cardan! First, we remove the traction, then we take out the pin from the box and the bearing of the manual transmission support rod itself. That’s it, we have the backstage. To replace the bushings, you also don’t need any adaptations, I changed everything with my hands, the most difficult thing was to put the silent in place))) We don’t forget to lubricate everything. , everything became tight and clear. I have to learn again))) It remains to repress the bushings and it will be like new)))
On the same day, I changed the Castrol 10w40 to Motul 10w40, and the mann oil filter. I didn’t think my motor could run so quietly O_o. There were no more horses, but it became much easier for him to ride, that’s a fact.

Repair backstage manual transmission e36 + TO — logbook BMW 3 series Shadow Line. 1997 on
Good day everyone, I had a free minute at work and I decided to get rid of a real problem, it’s a loose rocker, and for one thing I did it. I get an oil service for two replacements. Then I proceeded to the most important thing for which this record is actually being made, REPAIR THE SCENE. and the effect is awesome. And so I needed 23 41 1 466 134 Gear selector lever bushing 78.30 rubles 25 11 1 220 439 Gearshift sealing washer 4 pieces 35.86 rubles total 143.44 (not needed) 25 11 1 220 600 Gear lever support gear shifting 555.26 rubles
25 11 7 580 281 Hinge for gearshift backstage 833.36 rubles (GEAR SELECTION ROD CAGE, stands on the manual transmission) I want to tell you about it in more detail since I didn’t need a washer, the campaign was some kind of modernization and you no longer need to put a plastic washer under this clip there are already ledges on the clip where the washers should be,
removed backstage
what is needed for repair
new gear selector rod holder with projections, no need to put plastic washers
old clip without protrusions and other broken-down parts
so the backstage began to stand after installation in place
E36 backstage repair — logbook BMW 3 series Sky blue metallic 1991 on
Backstage photo, everything is like everyone else =)
Like many BMW owners from the purchase, there was a problem with the wings, namely, it was very problematic to turn on the reverse gear. Every time I turned on the reverse gear, the thought came to me that I needed to change the bushings, time passed and the hatred for the reverse gear increased. After reading a bunch of articles, I decided to try to remove and replace the bushings. the next day I gave ready-made bushings for dinner. was a day off, it was decided to put them on the same day, without removing the exhaust and cardan. Immediately from the heavy, I disconnected part No. 3, no problem. I knew that it needed to be bent to the side and up. Then I removed ring No. 13 and pulled pin No. 15 from the top down, with the ring I had to suffer a little with a screwdriver to pull it off. Then I suffered with detail No. 4, well, this silent didn’t want to come out,
Sleeves, top trimmed to body length 7mm
About the bushings. The old ones were pryed by the top with a screwdriver to remove the top of the bushing, the cap of the native bushings was made under a cone, then the central remnants of the bushing were knocked out with a small blow. We inserted new bushings, the long ones had to be adjusted in size in place, because were longer than necessary. As a result, the dimensions are long: the length of the body became instead of 13mm = “7mm, so both bushings (from the side of the box). The small bushings fit perfectly without any modifications (on the lever itself) It was already late and I left the new bar for the next time, for a short-stroke backstage or ordering it from China. and why didn’t you change it before?
Ps did such a procedure with the backstage repair for the first time, it makes sense to remove the cardan with exhaust if you change the shank oil seal on the box. I unscrewed the traverse of the box from the body, but I did not see any changes in the position of the box, and there was no point in unscrewing it along the way.
Repair backstage BMW e36 — logbook BMW 3 series Undisputed 1998 on
From the moment of buying the car, the well-known BMW problem of those years, namely, the loose wings, bothered everyone. The reverse gear engaged with great effort and in the end, I rubbed the shroud to dick and broke the frame that holds this shroud. It even happened that instead of 4th gear, 2nd gear was switched on, everything was so bad. There is a lot of information on the Internet. I ordered parts under numbers 7, 2, 4, 11, 10 and 12 (complete)
I ordered parts under numbers 7, 2, 4, 11, 10 and 12 (complete)
Part number 7 turned out to be the most worn out. her was off to click up. I had to sweat. , it snaps into place with int. parts of the box. 5. We take out the backstage with part No. 1 from the rear silent. 6. The rear silent rests on the latches on the sides. We insert a screwdriver or an awl into the hole between the latch and the side of the silent and pick out the silent. (Logically simple, it is impossible to make a mistake) 7. To remove the backstage from part No. 1, you need to turn part No. 7 clockwise and remove it. 8. For those who want to change the oil seal: remove the ring from part No. 14, pull out pin No. 15. We change the seal.
9. We change the rubber bushing No. 2 on item No. 1.
I also changed the casing and soldered the frame that holds it. The gears became clear, the reverse gear turned on perfectly. It was worth it.
There is a video on youtube showing how I did it.
Repair backstage gearbox BMW E34
Everything is done from a lift or pit, without removing anything. All details are easily groped according to the ETK scheme.
First, remove the gearshift knob from the passenger compartment (No. 10) and the cover (No. 9), rubber boot (No. 8) and the gearbox platform. After that, we scroll 90 degrees inside the backstage part No. 7, so that the small antennae are opposite the grooves on the backstage. If you can’t pull it out, we break it. We climb under the car. We remove the part under No. 6, for which you need to snap off the stopper (No. 13) and pull the lever (No. 11) to the side.
Set aside the removed plastic washers. After removing part No. 6, we inspect it and see the oval development of the sleeve, due to which there is an increase in stroke when the gears are engaged. We take a bushing repair kit or grind it ourselves, knock out the old bushing and insert a new one in its place. Next, remove to do under number 11. Because One side has already been removed, it remains to release the lever from the gearbox side. We remove the stopper (No. 17) and pull out the lever (No. 11), do not forget to collect the washers.
After that, we proceed to the removal of part No. 14. Despite its complexity at first glance, having understood its device, it is removed in 5 minutes. It is advisable to clean the connection under No. 14 well from contamination, so that it is clearer to the touch. With a small screwdriver, we pry and push part No. 19 towards the checkpoint. After that, using a thin wire, we push the pin (No. 19) from the bottom up, it should be remembered that the hole in it is located strictly vertically. After that, part number 4 will freely come out. This part is inserted according to the same principle as the part under No. 6. At the end, we remove the part under number 1. We feel for bracket No. 3 with our hand and snap it down.
After that, we freely remove the bracket with the pin to the side. The lever under No. 1 holds only part No. 4, while it is freely pulled out of it towards the gearbox (in order not to tear the rubber, you need to carefully remove it, you can fill in WD-40). After cleaning all the parts, we proceed to eliminate backlash in the joints: After inserting parts No. 6.14, the entire backlash of the backstage is removed by 80-90%. We check for metal wear on the pulleys at part No. 11 – if the wear is large, then the bushings may not help and the entire part will need to be replaced. We replace the sleeve under No. 7, slightly lubricated – it removes the backlash of the part under No. 6 (in the wings itself and in neutral). We screw in parts No. 6 and No. 14, replace parts No. 17,18,19,20, 12,13,7,2 and get the perfect shift. If everything is done correctly, then switching can be done with one finger. The whole process took about an hour
