What is required to register a vehicle in Montenegro? How to register a car in Montenegro?
To renew the registration of a vehicle in Montenegro , you must attach the following documents:
- Driving license;
- identification;
- Documents from the leasing company (if the vehicle was purchased on lease).
If the owner of the vehicle in Montenegro is a legal entity, you must attach:
- Driving license;
- A copy of the decision to register the company;
- Stamp of the company;
- Documents from the leasing company (if the vehicle was purchased on lease).
For the first registration of a vehicle in Montenegro , imported from abroad, the following documentation is required :
- Overseas traffic license and invoice;
- Translation of transport licenses and invoices;
- customs declaration;
- Individual vehicle homologation certificate;
- Identity card/copy of company registration decision.
If the vehicle is cleared through customs through a specific company, documentation from that company and a decision on its registration is also required. If the vehicle was purchased from a legal entity, an invoice with data on the future owner and data on the vehicle and a decision to sell it are required.
An application for registration of a vehicle and an application for renewal of a vehicle registration shall be submitted in the name of the owner of the vehicle. The request is accompanied by:
- Proof of technical correctness;
- Evidence of payment of established fees and fulfillment of other obligations stipulated by law and other regulatory legal acts adopted on the basis of the law (compulsory insurance, customs, tax and other obligations related to the registration of vehicles);
- Evidence of compulsory motor third party liability insurance,
- Proof of ownership of the vehicle, confirmation of the origin of the vehicle;
- Identity card of the owner of the vehicle.
