Ukraine is able to offer travelers a huge number of recreation options. The tourist flow to this country does not run out even in winter. With the onset of cold weather, the skiing season opens in Ukraine, which lasts from November – December to March – April. The main region where the best ski resorts of Ukraine are located are the picturesque Carpathians. In this mountainous country, which covers at once five Ukrainian regions, excellent conditions have been created for winter recreation with all the necessary tourist infrastructure.

1. Slavske
Slavske is the oldest Ukrainian ski resort, which first welcomed visitors in the 1930s. It was built in the Lviv region, on the outskirts of the village of the same name in the Carpathian Mountains, back when Western Ukraine was part of Poland. 2. Bukovel
Bukovel is the most famous Ukrainian ski resort, which has been operating since the time of the USSR. 3. Mygovo
Mygovo is a relatively young ski resort located fifty kilometers from Chernivtsi. 4. Plai
In the Lviv region, there is a fairly young, but very popular resort of Plai among skiers. In a decade and a half, Plai turned from a small resort town into a modern world-class skiing center. It is not for nothing that it is called mini-Bukovel among local winter sports enthusiasts, which indicates the high level of recreation offered here.
There is a whole complex of trails here, starting with educational and children’s trails, and ending with quite difficult red sections. The slopes are equipped with snow generators, which allows the ski season to continue until mid-spring. Sports equipment can be rented here for UAH 180. for adults and for 80 UAH. for children. How to get to Plai?
The nearest railway stations to Play are Stryi, 68 km away, and Skole, 20 km from the resort. From here you can get to the ski base by taxi or shuttle bus. You can drive here by car from the Ukrainian capital along the E-50 “Kyiv-Chop” route through Stryi, or from Lviv along the route Lviv, Stryi, Skole, Plai.

5. Berezhivka

The easiest way to get to Berezovka from Odessa is in several ways. You can order a taxi directly from Odessa airport or railway station. You can also get to the sports center on your own, by bus or train. And here you should get off at the Platform 1214 km station. A bus belonging to the ski center goes to the resort from here, and you can also order a transfer taxi by calling the administration of Berezivka.

Extreme style, aka “Kharkiv Switzerland” is a winter resort located within the city of Kharkiv. There are gentle slopes equipped for beginners. The absence of significant heights on the outskirts of Kharkiv does not allow for the installation of descents of a high level of difficulty here. But the tracks available in the Extreme style are perfect for beginners who want to learn the basics of the art of speed skiing.
There are three well-prepared tracks here, equipped with a pair of bugel lifts. Two 400-meter-long slopes are designed for intermediate skiers, and a 150-meter training track is perfect for children or beginners who have skied for the first time. The “Extreme-style” ski center is located in the suburbs of Kharkiv near the village of Tsyrkuny. You can get here by your own car according to the navigator coordinates 50°3’50″N, 36°16’49″E. You can also get here by public transport. Bus #296 runs from the “Radyanska” metro station to “Extreme Park”, from the “Pushkinska” metro station – route taxi #223-e, from the “Universitet” metro station – route taxi #256. On them, you get to the final stop (the village of Zhukovsky or Astronomichna Street), and from there you can reach the ski center on foot, crossing the field.

7. Oryavchyk-Zveniv
Oryavchyk-Zveniv is a relatively small winter resort in the Lviv region in the Tysovets tract. The ski center includes two separate resorts – Oryavchyk and Zveniv.

How to get to Oryavchyk?
Oryavchyk is a village 136 km from Lviv, near the Kyiv-Chop highway. Other nearby settlements include Uzhhorod 144 km away and Ivano-Frankivsk 160 km away. From the listed cities, you can get to Oryavchyk by train or intercity bus to Skole station. From here you can take a taxi, transfer to a suburban bus or order a transfer to the resort hotel. A direct bus service regularly departs from the Lviv bus station to Oryavchyk. 8. Krasia
Krasia is a winter resort in Transcarpathia, near Uzhhorod. You can get here from this regional center by train or shuttle taxi. Initially, in the 1980s, Krasiya was created as a ski base for the training of the Olympic team – this is connected with the presence here of the longest speed run in Ukraine, 3.5 km long. The tracks of Krasia are laid along the slopes of the mountain of the same name, which is more than a kilometer high. This area differs from other Carpathian resorts in its calmness and solitude. Next to the slopes, there are three snack bars, there are mini-hotels and guest houses. Among the disadvantages of Krasia, it should be noted the lack of artificial lighting of the slopes, which makes safe skiing in the evening twilight impossible.
How to get to Krasiya?
To get to the resort from Lviv or Kyiv, you should first get to Uzhhorod by car or train. The capital of Transcarpathia is approximately 67 km from Krasia. The ski center can be reached from Uzhgorod by highway or by suburban train. An electric train also runs from the nearby town of Mukacheve. The Beskid ski center is located near the village of Verkhniy Studeny. The easiest way to get to this settlement is by train from Lviv or Kyiv, getting off at the Volovets railway station, which is halfway between Lviv and Uzhhorod. From here, you need to drive another 30 km by regular bus or hired taxi to the village of Verkhniy Studenyi, where you can stay in a hotel or in the private sector.

10. Pylypets-Podobovets
