Spindleruv Mlyn
Špindlerův Mlýn is one of the most popular Czech winter resorts, located in the northern part of the Giant Mountains in the territory of the national park of the same name. Most of the local ski slopes are laid on the slopes of the nearby Maiden Stone mountain, 1.4 km high. Also used for skiing are the mountains Medvedin (height 1235 m), Plan (1198 m), Horni Misechki (1040 m). This mountainous area is characterized by snowy winters and relatively mild frosts: even in January the temperature here remains at -3…-7°C. All individual areas are connected by a constantly running free ski bus. Children will be able to master the basics of skiing under the guidance of experienced mentors, including Russian-speaking coaches.
Most of the slopes are equipped with artificial snowmaking systems, as well as lighting for evening skiing. In addition to the ski slopes, Špindlerův Mlýn has three excellent snow parks for fans of snowboarding and freestyle skiing. At the foot of the mountains there are 25 km of cross-country skiing tracks and even a 4-kilometer bobsleigh run.
Vacationers can also go paragliding, horse riding or try to conquer the nearby mountains by renting climbing equipment, play squash and bowling. After active sports, tourists are invited to relax in local restaurants and night bars, visit a spa center with mud treatments and herbal baths, or swim in the indoor pool.

The easiest way to get to Spindleruv Mlyn is through the nearest international airports: Czech Prague (distance 150 km), Polish Wroclaw (170 km), German Dresden (235 km). Pec-pod-Snezkoy
Pec pod Snezkou is a ski center located on the territory of the Krkonose Nature Reserve, 170 km from the Czech capital. As its name implies, it is located at the foot of Mount Snezka, near its southern slope. It is the highest peak of the Giant Mountains, towering 1.6 km above the surrounding area. The mountain got its name due to the fact that a snow cap remains on its top most of the year, which is due to its height and the large amount of winter precipitation in this area.
In Pec there are downhill slopes suitable for different categories of skiers – there are tracks for experienced athletes, for intermediate amateurs and for beginners who have recently started skiing. All of them are equipped with mechanical lifts that deliver skiers directly to the starting point. The Ruzova Khora high-speed funicular takes athletes to the highest point, the top of Mount Snezka.
Among the routes laid here, three are equipped with artificial lighting, which allows you to ride even after sunset (until 21-00). The number of illuminated slopes also includes the longest Pec route – the one and a half kilometer “Javor”. In case of little snow or during sudden thaws, a system of snow generators is activated, making skiing comfortable regardless of the weather. For lovers of snowboarding and freestyle skiing, there is a fan park on the Snezhka slope, equipped with all the technical equipment for practicing tricks – jumps, slides, rails.
It won’t be a problem to find a place to stay overnight in Pec. There are more than a hundred hotels, inns and hostels of varying levels of comfort and price categories. For the most part, these are 3-4 star hotels with price tags of 35-40 euros per night for a double room. Also in Pec pod Snezkou there are restaurants and cafes, indoor sports centers, night discos and a cinema.

The best way to get to Pec pod Snezkou is through Prague International Airport. You can also get to Prague by train, and from there order a taxi transfer. You can get to the resort yourself by special tourist buses departing from the railway station and from the bus station in the Prague suburb of Holesovice. Travel time will be about 2 hours.

Rokytnice nad Jizerou
Rokytnice is a winter resort located near the Polish border in the western spurs of the Giant Mountains. The resort area of Rokytnice consists of two separate clusters located in the valley of the Jizerou River and united by a common ski pass. These are Studenov, located on the slopes of Mount Lysa (elevation difference 637 – 1312 m) and Gornji Domiki with an elevation difference of 300 meters. The first of these zones is more suitable for experienced skiers who want to enjoy high-speed skiing on difficult slopes with large slopes. Gornji huts have a lower slope, making them perfect for beginners and family skiing with children. In addition to these two areas, there are ski slopes on the neighboring slopes of Parez, Blue Star and Ski Service Udatny.
Visitors to Rokytnica note the consistently high quality of the downhill slopes available here and their technical equipment. Most of the local slopes are covered by an artificial snowmaking system; there are illuminated trails for skiing after sunset. The resort has ski schools and sports equipment rentals.
In addition to skiing, vacationers can walk around the territory of the Krkonose National Park along marked hiking trails. Tourists have the opportunity to visit a sports complex with a fitness center, sauna, bowling alley and tennis courts. Orlicke Mountains
The Orlické Mountains is a resort area that combines several ski areas 180 km from the Czech capital. It is located near the city of Hradec Kralove, which can be reached from Prague or directly from the international airport by road or rail. The heyday of the resort dates back to the 1930s, when ski lovers first discovered this amazingly beautiful area. Today, up to 10 thousand tourists visit the Orlicke Mountains annually, attracted by the opportunity to enjoy an active holiday in the lap of pristine nature.
Ski slopes in the Orlicke Mountains are located mainly on the slopes of Velka Deštna and Zakleti Vrh, where the resort area of Žički is located. Several local tracks have international FIS certification, which confirms their compliance with all quality standards. Thanks to this, competitions in giant slalom and other alpine skiing disciplines are often held here. The Orlicke Mountains are part of the larger Sudeten Mountains region, which is distinguished by its unusually picturesque nature. You can get to the Orlické Mountains through Prague, reaching the Czech capital by plane or train. From here you can order a transfer to the resort, or use regular transport services. Harrachov
The Harrachov ski resort is located in the western part of the Giant Mountains and has a rich history. It was opened more than a century ago: in 1905 the first alpine skiing competitions were held here, and in 1920 the first ski jump was built in Harrachov. Today this ski resort is considered one of the best not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout Europe. Alpine skiing, snowboarding and ski jumping competitions are regularly held here. By the way, today there are five ski jumps in Harrachov, one of which is one of the largest on the planet.
The downhill slopes here are laid on the slopes of Devil’s Mountain, Zakouti and Amalka and are part of the general ski region with a single ski pass. The slopes of these mountains from the foot to the very top are covered with spruce forests, which protects skiers from side winds and allows the snow to remain for as long as possible.
Harrachov also has virgin slopes for off-piste skiing, which extreme freeriders will appreciate. On the slope of the Devil’s Mountain there is a large ski park with various equipment, where snowboarders and freestylers can practice aerobatic maneuvers.
In addition to skiing, vacationers can stroll through the picturesque surroundings of Harrachov, explore the majestic Mumlava waterfalls, or visit the town itself, famous since the Middle Ages for its master glassblowers. Local Bohemian glass products are now famous throughout the world.

The closest international airport to Harrachov is located in Prague, 130 km from the resort. From here, tourists can order a taxi transfer or use the services of an intercity bus departing from the Black Bridge bus station. Klinovets
Klínovec is the oldest ski center in the Czech Republic. It is located near the town of Bozi Dar, at the foot of Mount Klinovets, where most of the downhill skiing is located. In addition, the trails are laid along the slopes of the nearby mountains Neklide and Bozi Dar, the longest of which, “Jachimova”, has a length of 2,950 meters and a width of 100 meters. This makes Jáchymova the longest and widest downhill course in the country.
There is a single ski pass for all ski areas of the resort, thanks to which vacationers will be able to use the ski lifts anywhere in Klinovets. You can also get from one mountain to another using a cable car: for example, from the top of Klinovec a funicular takes tourists to the foot of Neklid.
More than 20 kilometers of ski slopes are covered by an artificial snowmaking system, which allows vacationers to ski comfortably even during the spring thaw. Klinovets has an agreement with the neighboring German resort of Fichtelberg on a common ski pass. Therefore, tourists have the opportunity to try the slopes of this German ski center. You can get to Fichtelberg using the free ski bus.
In Klinovets there is a “Kul-fan-park”, designed to entertain fans of snowboarding and freestyle. It is equipped with all the devices necessary to perform acrobatic stunts. For extreme freeriders, there are more than 2 km of unmarked virgin slopes in Klinovec. There is a children’s ski school with a separate skiing area, and a ski equipment rental point.
How to get there?
The most convenient way to get to Klínovec is to order a transfer from the Czech capital. Prague is located 110 km from the ski center, and the travel time will be no more than one and a half to two hours. You can also take a shuttle bus that runs between Prague and Klínovec. You can also get to the ski resort from Karlovy Vary, which is 30 km away. From here there is a regular bus to the ski resort; the travel time is 40–50 minutes, and the cost of the trip is 2 euros.

Grub-Jesenik
Hruby Jesenik is a ski area in the north of Moravia near the Polish border, which includes several resort areas. In addition to Jesnik itself, these are Hanušovice and Velký Losiny. All of them are ready to offer vacationers a wide range of different trails designed for athletes of different skill levels.
Slopes in Jesenik are equipped on the slopes of several neighboring peaks: Praded (1491 meters), Vysoká Hole (1463 meters), Keprnik (1423 meters), Anthill (1343 meters). The most difficult trails, intended for experienced professionals, are located in the area of the village of Keprnik, and the simplest gentle slopes can be found near the village of Petrikov.
Its history as a resort town of Hruby Jesenik dates back to the 19th century, when the local doctor Priestnitz opened a boarding house and hydropathic establishment here. The development of recreation infrastructure here was facilitated by nature untouched by civilization, healing mountain air and a favorable climate. Even in the depths of winter, the average air temperature in Jesenik is -2…-3°C, and there is no wind, so typical for other mountainous areas.
The area around the resort is part of protected lands, thanks to which you can find various animals here – roe deer, wild boars, deer, foxes, badgers. Vacationers are invited to take a tour of the surrounding area, visiting the picturesque late-Gothic Janski Vrch castle, the Zlata Chlum observation tower and the amazing moss lakes in the Reiviz National Park.

Hruby Jesnik is located not far from Karvin. You can get here through Prague International Airport, ordering a transfer or taking an intercity bus in the Czech capital. There is also a passenger train from Prague station Hlavní Nádraží to Karvin. Travel time will be about 5 hours. There is a shuttle bus from Karvin directly to Hruby Jesnik, and it is also possible to take a taxi.

Tanvaldski-Špičak
anvaldski Spicak is a winter resort located near the town of Zelezny Ruda, in the Sudeten Mountains on the very border with Germany . This resort area is part of the Sumava National Park. You can get here by train or bus from Pilsen, which is 85 km from the resort.
Every year 10 ski slopes are equipped in Špicak. Among them there are relatively flat slopes for skiing for beginners and children, and difficult steep routes more suitable for experienced skiers. The resort has a ski school, staffed by experienced trainers, and a sports equipment rental service. The main track “Spichak-2” is equipped with artificial lighting and is available for skiing until 21-00. At the foot of the mountain slope there is a long ski track for cross-country ski lovers.
For snowboarders and freestylers, Špicak has a snow park equipped with jumps, ramps and slides for performing tricks. International and local competitions are regularly held here.

The largest cities closest to Tanvaldski Spicak are Liberec and Pilsen, which are 85 km from the resort. You can get to the resort by taxi, bus or train. Špicak railway station is located just 300 meters from the foot of the ski slope. The nearest international airport is in Prague. You can get to the resort from the Czech capital by ordering a transfer to the hotel door, getting to Špicak by train or intercity bus. If you go to Tanvaldski Špicak by bus, it is best to get off at the Kaskady stop or at the turn to Black Lake. The distance from them to the ski sports complex does not exceed 500 meters.

Karlov – Mala Moravka
The resort area of Karlov – Mala Moravka is located on the southern slopes of the Jesenik ridge, near the village of Mala Moravka. A significant part of the local slopes are equipped on the slope of Mount Klobouk, including the most difficult of them, with a height difference of 195 meters and a length of only half a kilometer. Some slopes of the resort are available for skiing all year round, thanks to the existing artificial snowmaking system.
What makes Karlov popular among tourists is the mild climate that prevails in this part of the Jesnik mountain system. The average January temperature here ranges from -1°C to -5°C. Thanks to this, as well as the presence of safe, gentle slopes, the resort is perfect for family skiing with a child, as well as for beginners mastering the art of downhill skiing. At their service in Karlov there is a ski school with experienced certified instructors.
For cross-country skiing enthusiasts, there are 19 km of cross-country trails in the valley. In general, the resort is distinguished by a developed tourist infrastructure: there are a sufficient number of restaurants and cafes, hotels and hostels, rental shops for sports equipment and a ski accessories store.
How to get there?
Karlov – Mala Moravka is located near the ancient town of Bruntal. You can get to it from the Czech capital by intercity bus departing from the Florenc bus station. You can also rent a car in Prague and get to the resort on your own, driving along the E-67 to Hradec-Karlové, and then turning onto highway No. 11 to Bruntal via Vamberk and Bludov. There are also passenger trains to Bruntal, but the easiest option is to book a transfer at Prague airport.
