UK speeding fines 2023
According to the British media themselves, speed cameras and patrols are literally everywhere. For cars with UK registration plates, fines are priced based on the driver’s weekly income. For foreign ones, it is even based on the price of the vehicle! So the amounts vary a lot.
The same Questura advises officers not to deal with speeding below 10% of the speed limit during the process of issuing the fine, and also to take into account the measurement error of 2 miles per hour. However, after leaving the EU, some officers may have come across vehicles with EU number plates. So be warned, speed doesn’t pay off here. This is also related to the fact that although Great Britain has left the EU, the system of sending fines to the Czech Republic is still in place.
Fines table (for all road types)
- 1-24 km/h (1-15 mph): 100 (€0.00) and 3 points
- 25-41 km/h (16-25 mph): from 100 (€0.00) to 1000 (€0.00) and 4 points
- 42-48 km/h (26-30 mph): from 100 (€0.00) to 1000 (€0.00) and 5-6 points
